Clearwater Lodge was founded in 1915 and is now on the National Historical Registry. We are the oldest lodge on the Gunflint Trail and the original canoe outfitting business of the BWCA. Our eight cabins date back to as early as the 1920s and have modern kitchens, bathrooms and more. The main lodge is the oldest hand-hewn whole log structure in the region and is currently operated as a bed and breakfast with five rooms upstairs. Started in 1915, Clearwater Outfitters has been servicing those wishing to paddle the pristine wilderness of the BWCA for nearly 100 years. Partial and complete packages are available as well as five bunkhouses and breakfast for those wishing to get an early start on a day of paddling. The main floor of the historical lodge is open to the public and free tours are available daily.
